[FREE] NAV Type Beat "City Love" | Hip Hop Trap Ambient Instrumental Type Beat

Hello music lovers. I'm Joey or "Katabok".

Made a new NAV Type Beat. I should really call it "Call Me" Type Beat and add metro boomin in the title because it was really inspired by their mashup.

Steps/Process to create the beat

1. I started with a few chords to set up the ambiance of the instrumental. I then added a melody and then a counter melody on top of that. Next I thought that a clap/snare would fit perfectly so I found a sound that fits in well and hence I used it. In the beginning I added a filter and volume automation on the snare, it just adds to the movement I rekon. For the melodies and ambient synth I used 100% MASSIVE, no nexus unfortunately. I better get some new sounds soon aye.

2. I added a basic 808 bass pattern that fits with the root note of the melody. I then added some slides for that extra omphf. I do feel like I could put the 808 at a higher bass note, but nav likes his deeper bass notes.

3. Next I layered everything out, mixed it a bit. If you wanna mix i recommend putting everything to mono from stereo and then work on the leveling from there, it's all about volume leveling.

Thats it gang shee it is what it is

Three Different Types of Producer Contracts

Hello music lovers. I'm Joey or "Katabok".

A quick update on my Beat store journey. Currently it has been 5 days since I first got my website (www.katabok.com) up and running (still in construction lol). I can say for sure that the VUE website template includes a nice NICE, SIMPLE design and the team at Soundgine is very responsive and dedicated to their customers. So I have a small catalog of 20 ~ "worthy" beats and I had planned to post all said beats at once! HOWEVER.... MY CONTRACTS NEED TO BE SET UP.

Searching the Soundgine forum (forum lit come join us) I stumbled upon producer contract templates. Now I thought to myself, "damn these are some pretty well written templates, I wonder if I can copy and paste this shit onto my contract". Luckily I have a first class bachelors degree in Mining Engineering and I was smart enough to google search whether that was legal... LONG STORY SHORT IT ISN'T, BUT! you can definitely rearrange some sections here and there to fit your own criteria and "tadaah" make your very own "custom" contract tailored to you (yes you future producer). Now I had to think long and hard how I was going to use these templates (some were shit to be honest) by rearranging some of the wordings to customize my own shit so that my ass won't get burnt in the future.

Where Can I Get These " FREE Contract templates" well for starters, GOOGLE! But seriously I used two popular producers contracts to create my own custom producer to licensee agreement. The first was "CashMoneyAP" (YEAA SHOUT OUTT) and the second was "MantraBeats" !!. I just want to state and clarify that I am by no means associated with these top dogs in any way shape or form. These two producers have very interesting producer contracts that I recommend you read.

Now there are THREE TYPES OF BASIC PRODUCER CONTRACTS...

1. Basic MP3 Lease

2. Basic/Premium WAV Lease

3. UNLIMITED WAV+MP3 Lease

Comparing both CashMoneyAP's and MantraBeats Contracts will allow us (YOU/PRODUCER/PRODUCERS) to obtain a greater legal range of licensing our music. AND YOU WANT TO LICENSE YOUR MUSIC PROPERLY HUH?!?!

Now everyone recommends that, you...

1. Write your contract

2. Update contract with your entertainment lawyer

To be honest I skipped out on number 2 for now because I'm just starting, but hey, I got a First Class Bachelors Degree in Engineering (WHY U PRODUCING BRUH?!?! "Can't find work in the mining industry as a grad engineer" - Katabok 2017), I have written dozens of reports, I Definitly know how to rearrange written work (LMAO USE THAT DEGREE MOTHER FUCKER).

So as of this moment 26/07/2017 my contracts are as follows.

1. MP3 Basic Lease

2. WAV Basic Lease

3. UNLIMITED Lease

4. Exclusive

If you want to check out a snippet of my terms and conditions, GO CHECK OUT MY WEBSITE www.katabok.com.

As of this moment I have 2 hit beats (please rate, comment, follow) and will be posting more.

If you want to see my FULL CONTRACT Hit me up at beatsbykatabok@gmail.com. Or follow my newsletter for future beat discounts and free basic leases (AS SOON AS I GET A GOOD CATALOG GOING).

I'm definitely in this for the long run, looking forward to the future, looking brighter than it use ta. See you soon.

Kind Regards,

Katabok

How beatsbykatabok got started making music

Hello to all new artists and music lovers. I'm Joey or "Katabok".

As of 22/07/2017 I am a 22 year old University graduate, as to what I studied I will get into that at a later blog post. So how did I come to the conclusion that I wanted to produce music/hip hop instrumentals? It all started because of DUBSTEP. During my 11th grade in Highschool I was intrigued by the noises dubstep producers such as Nero, Rusko and Skrillex produced, I thought hell why not give this a try? So i got myself FL studio 10 and Long story short, I tried and I failed :(

Fast forward to grade 12, I found this youtube commentary site called "thaddeus peautershmidt" (unfortunately got banned) I use to love watching his COD commentary and contrary to all autistic wob wob intro music expectations this guy used ..... TRAP BEATS. He was talking about how he bought the intro music from a guy called "superstarbeats". I did some research into trap music, and like most producers in our generation I stumbled upon the one, the only ..... the trend setter .. LEX LUGER.

So from year 12 - 2nd year of uni I was absorbing and trying to recreate all sorts of Lex Luger type beats. Unfortunately I didn't progress as well in my producing skills because of university commitments, interest in bitcoins/stocks & forex (I'll talk about this on another blog). I pretty much gave up producing for 6 months because I felt like this wasn't for me.

Nek minute I hear "muzza onda be HOE", on the song "2 on" with Tinashe, I like what I heard and I tried to make my own version of that "mustard on the beat hoe". It was at the end of second year I became introduced to the weeknd and started listening to his producers techniques. In my opinion his production pretty much influenced the dark soul/ trap beats of this generation (GOD BLESS) and damn well influenced me. I was like " damn how'd he make that shit sound so creepy, smooth and BUMPIN all at the same time ?!?!".

By the end of my 3rd year of uni, I discovered the already infamous METRO BOOMIN, I thought man this guys high hats are insane, pretty much set the "tick tick tick tick tick tickity tick tick" pattern that's so widely used now (by me also hahahaha).

So my fourth year of uni was all about balancing my work load stress (FUCK THESIS), and creating beats. At this point I believed my skills in beat producing to be adequate (producing about 1 listenable beat a month). I remember the days of beats > uni where I would stay up till 3AM just to figure out how to EQ a particular melody so it doesn't sound like the rest of my other beats HAHA.

Well Here I AM NOW. 2017, I can say I did everything that was expected of me. I finished uni, got a scholarship, graduated with first class honors. But unfortunately the market for engineers isn't so fresh right now (YES I STUDIED ENGINEERING) and I was left unemployed for the new year. So I took a trip to Bangkok -> Indo -> Japan -> back to Aus. Life's tough, it isn't fair, but it's not so bad. We live in a generation with the most self made millionaires. If they can make it, whats stopping you or me? With this mindset, early this year I started making beats and uploading them onto spotify/itunes (LINKS BELOW). I have definitely made a significant progress from my old soundcloud beat days.

NOW ITS TIME TO GET SERIOUS (SHOUT OUT SERIOUSBEATS LOL). I signed up with soundgine pro because I'm serious about making music. I want to create quality musical content and be the one to control my brand (not some other 3rd party). I'm keen to grow with the soundgine vue platform to see whether it's the "brand" or the "beatplayer" that makes a hip hop rnb trap step producer popular.

TO ALL UPCOMING PRODUCERS. PLEASE read the terms and agreement properly before signing up to anything. Please understand how ContentID works and how to implement it YOURSELF (google AdRev, i'm still in the process of learning myself). Remember, at the end of the day YOU should be in control of your product (not a 3rd party) and it's your responsibility to learn all the nicks about it.

Anyways, I'll try blogging once a week. Lemme know what you want me to talk about.

Kind Regards,

Katabok
